After nice breakfast we took Route 40 South which becomes the Camino de los siete lagos ( the Road of the seven lakes) from San Martin de los Andes onwards. We expected pretty scenic views but today’s ride was just out of this world – every corner we turned there were more impressive vistas of mountains and dark blue lakes – hard to describe and unfortunately very few places to pull off the road and stop to take pictures. We arrived in Beriloche in the late afternoon, had coffee and free croissants and sweets and headed to town for a nice Italian restaurant where we ate grilled local trout with pesto pasta and salad.
