We enjoyed a late breakfast at our empty campground and reluctantly packed up. We could have easily stayed another night but had already made a hotel booking in the next town on the Atlantic coast. I include some images of the inside of our tent and the view over the river in the morning sun. I also got some pictures of the electrical wiring at these campsites – probably would not pass Australian electrical standards and none of the outlets were tagged 😂 but it is great to have power to charge our devices while camping 👍🏕️

We eventually left our river oasis on Wednesday at 2pm and rode 241km to reach the East coast and see the Atlantic Ocean for the first time. Since we have left the West Coast we have travelled 2100 km in 9 days.

The ride went through more arid landscapes with more wildlife including Rhea birds, guanacos, an armadillo and a fox.

We had a lunch stop at Samiento. And for my daughter – the tic tac got me through the day 😂🤗👍. We also rode through a large area of oil well pumps as far as the eye could see and some mining areas too (no pictures as we could not stop anywhere) . The wind grew stronger and the temperature plummeted as we approached the coast and we had to stop to close our jackets and put more layers on.

We stayed at a very upmarket hotel (the only one that provided secure parking for our bikes in an undercover parking garage). A large group of BMW riders from Brazil also stayed at the same hotel.

We had an amazing dinner at the hotel restaurant – still trying new Argentinian dishes – this time we had mollejas (golden gizzards) and pork belly and shrimp for starters.
