We decided to extend and stay one more night camping at Puerto Deseado as we needed another day rest, needed to get some clothes washing done and the forecast for Sunday was hot with strong winds. After a late breakfast, I put my dirty clothes in the dry bag added detergent and headed to the sink to add water but there were only a few drops coming out of the tap and then no more water – not even at the toilets. Our new friendly neighbours (a palaeontologist and a PE teacher) went and told the manager and he said to wait 30 minutes and he would have it fixed. Water was back as promised and we got 2 loads of washing done and dried and took it easy again avoiding the sun and the very strong winds.

I went for a swim in the late afternoon on the local beach – it was rather “frio” but I used my snorkelling mask for the first time on the trip and saw some crabs but no fish.

We headed back to the nice restaurant where we had eaten on Friday night and walked along the foreshore to get there taking pictures of memorials of the war, educative information boards about the wildlife, the start of Ruta 281 which leads into Puerto Deseado and a sign with distances to various places. We enjoyed another nice meal at the restaurant which had a nice sentiment on their place mats. We watched the large deep sea fishing boats being tugged in and out of the river. We walked back to camp and enjoyed the last night in our tent. 🏕️
