We had initially booked two nights in Puerto Natales but I was not better and the weather forecast was wet and windy for several days so we found another place in Puerto Natales which had a washing machine. On the day we had to change accommodation we rode into town tried to get money unsuccessfully but had a nice lunch with a huge ice cream dessert (almost as good as those in Porto Rose 🤗) We stayed another 3 nights at the second cabana – got all our washing done and I spent two more days indoors and was wondering whether I had to get antibiotics as my throat was not getting better and my sinuses were blocked and I was still running a fever. Andrew went shopping and we lived on soup and bread for 4 nights.
We did organise our trip to Torres del Paine National Park and bought our Park entry tickets and 5 nights of camping at Lake Pehoé campground.
On the last day in town we stopped by the mechanic Samuel, who was highly recommended on a motorcycle Facebook group, to have a look at my leaking left fork seal – he checked it out and said it is a minor leak and he tried to get all the fine dust out by compressing the springs as much as possible and clean any dirt off – this was done for about half an hour until no more dirt came out. Samuel also gave us plenty of good advice about the upcoming route we wanted to take and did not take any money for his efforts. Andrew was successful in getting some money on our last day. We walked to the foreshore and had at least one nice dinner the last evening in Puerto Natales and maybe it was for a reason that I was so sick as the weather was very wet and windy the entire time we stayed in Puerto Natales and I really needed that extra time to recover – still not sure how I managed to get over this but the good old fashioned home remedies of honey in hot water, steam inhalations and warm salt water gargles combined with rest and soup seemed to eventually work.

Love to hear from you
