After finding an Autoplanet shop in Chillan to source some chain lube for our bikes we took back roads all the way to Temuco to avoid the main highway 5 which was crazy with fast cars and trucks the other day. It was perfect riding conditions and we found a great park for lunch along the way where we had lunch. We thought the backroads are saver but Andrew had a car reverse into him at an intersection while stopped for a red light – no damage to the bike – the tire took all tge impact – driver did not get out or apologise and we still don’t know why he reversed and how he did not see us as we are hugely overloaded and almost as wide as a car and we are wearing bright yellow high viz vests 😂👍. We managed to arrive at the hotel at 7:30pm just minutes before the heavens opened up and it was a big front going through that even caused a power outage in the entire suburb. We found this amazing restaurant in walking distance and had a fabulous huge dinner and I treated myself to another Pisco sour 🍸😉👍. Today we found an atm and are now heading towards the lakes and Villarrica where we plan to camp for the next two nights before crossing into Argentina – we will not have internet for a while.
